SCAPE Platform

This wiki sub-space, dedicated to the SCAPE Preservation Execution Platform development, will be periodically updated. To recap the Platform design, an excerpt of the Platform characterization follows:

The SCAPE Preservation Platform provides an extensible infrastructure for the execution of digital preservation processes on large volumes of data. A key challenge is the development of methods to integrate preservation tools and diverse data corpora with a massively parallel execution environment. The Platform will be provided as a service that can be remotely operated using a workflow management system. Data management will be handled through a digital repository system that incorporates the data processing Platform. Considerable computing and storage resources will be made available based on a shared deployment of the Platform system. The Public Instance is intended to provide the required infrastructure for large-scale testing and evaluation, performed within the Testbed and Planning and Watch sub-projects.
