Middlesex University elevator pitch

To the Assistant Director, Library Services. As you know, our research repository is the public showcase of Middlesex University academic research and creative work. We need investment in digital preservation to ensure that research outputs remain accessible. This will protect and enhance the university's reputation as a centre of excellence in research and data management. Current resources are barely enough to cover addition of new outputs to the repository. Investment in the repository needs to rise to match the University's strategic aim of winning an international reputation as a major research centre.

Additional investment will produce:

• Rapid, near-instant publication of research outputs
• Information currency - minimal out of date data
• Outputs permanently available on demand anywhere, any time
• Additional income - research grants, consultancy, course fees
