Description

JPEG 2000 is not well supported by open-source decoders. The following open-source encoders/decoders exist:

JasPer

JasPer is an "open-source initiative to provide a free software-based reference implementation of the codec specified in the JPEG-2000 Part-1 standard" (i.e. JP2). It was originally developed as an official JPEG 2000 reference implementation, which is part of the standard (ISO/IEC 15444-5). JasPer is written in C.

OpenJPEG

This library is an open-source JPEG 2000 codec written in the C language.
