SCAPE Platform

This wiki sub-space, dedicated to the SCAPE Preservation Execution Platform development, will be periodically updated. The next major update will come after SCAPE Developer's Workshop planned in Vienna on 6th and 7th of June. To recap the Platform design, the excerpt of the Platform characterization follows:

The SCAPE Preservation Platform provides an extensible infrastructure for the execution of digital preservation processes on large volumes of data. A key challenge is the development of methods to integrate preservation tools and data corpora with a massively parallel execution environment provided by the platform. The Platform will be provided as a service that can be remotely operated using a workflow management system. Data management will be handled through a digital repository system that incorporates the data processing Platform. Considerable computing and storage resources will be made available based on a shared deployment of the Platform system. The Public Instance is intended to provide the required infrastructure for large-scale testing and evaluation, performed within the Testbed and Planning and Watch sub-projects.
