Guidelines for contributing to COPTR

Please follow these guidelines when contributing to COPTR:

• Keep COPTR entries concise and factual. User feedback and other comment should go elsewhere and be referenced with a URL.
• Avoid time specific language as it will quickly become out of date. For example avoid: "The current version of the tool...", "This is a new tool", "This tool is currently under development". If time referenced language is necessary, reference a specific tool version and/or date.
• Choose tags for a new tool page carefully. Check out the existing tag schemes and choose appropriate tags that will add your new entry to the right categories on COPTR. Avoid adding lots of uneccessary tags.
• Search carefully for existing entries before adding a new tool entry. Ensure you don't add a duplicate entry by first searching for existing entries for the tool you want to add. If there is already a page, make it better!
